Terrazzo Restoration in Sarasota

Today we did an exciting job in Sarasota.   The clients (the Greenburgs) had marble on top of their flooring.   The house looked great, but the client wasn’t pleased with the fact that the marble needed a restoration job.   You see, these people want to live green.   They hired our company to come over and evaluate the floor to see if this was truly an option.   Well, I don’t think they were prepared for our answer since removing tile, Mexican tile, and marble from terrazzo flooring is a popular trend in South Florida!  So, yes they were pleased with our answer of YES!
We arranged to have our employees remove the tile on their day off to prepare the terrazzo floor for our unique restoration process.   Let me tell you that this $30. 00 per square foot terrazzo floor looked great after our restoration job.   If your eyes just jumped out of you head when you read that is costs around $30 per square foot to have terrazzo installed,  that is correct!  That is why you don’t see new homes with terrazzo, usually only airports, convention centers and very few new schools. Restoring already existing terrazzo floors is extremely cost effective, and is an excellent investment.
Terrazzo Restoration is an inexpensive option, and the floor could at times look newly installed.   So if you are lucky to have terrazzo under you tile, think about removing that dated flooring and get something that is modern, green and too expensive to have newly installed these days.
Yes, the Greenburgs were very happy with the restoration and they plan on collecting modern furniture to live a modern green lifestyle.   I forgot to say that when Terrazzo was installed in homes 50+ years ago, it was used a a ntural way of keeping homes cool.   That’s part of why it is talked about as green technology.
Thats a happy, happy customer story!  We love what we do.

We hope to be talking Terrazzo with you soon!
Tampa Terrazzo Restoration
Just an update on our new full time adventure doing terrazzo restoration in the Tampa Staint Petersburg, Clearwater  area.   We are starting a project for a mid century modern house. In this case, the terrazzo floors were covered with tile.   The guys outsourced the tile removal and when the thin set was totaly removed they decovered that there were about 80 holes along each wall.   At first they thought theproject was impossible, then they found our site and read about how we find filling in holes with the proper terrazzo chips an exciting challenge.
Once we arrived at the house we too saw the holes, it was clear to us that there was a series of three tack strips that were probably installed over the last 50 years.   We figured that out based on the fact that the holes were apart.
Well I have to say this terrazzo restoration job was a real challenge, it took us a day longer to do the job then expected, but we got it done.   Of course they were pleased with the outcome and the glass like shine and so were we since they live in a modern house that requires an attention to detail.
